Secondary workshop National Geographic - Delivering effective reading lessons

Reading is an essential skill for success in all aspects of life. Despite this we often overlook the fundamental reading skills that our students need, mistakenly thinking they already know how to ‘read’. But reading isn’t just about going from the beginning to the end of a written passage and answering comprehension questions. Life is never that simple and neither is reading. In this session, we’ll look at different reading strategies to help make our students stronger, faster and better readers.
